Invisalign Go is an orthodontic treatment which utilizes custom-made clear aligner trays to help you straighten your teeth (1). The trays are virtually invisible and are an alternative treatment to traditional metal braces which are shaped like a mouthguard.
Dr Franck Page offers Invisalign Go at our practice to help you improve the appearance of your smile and to enhance your oral health. You may also require this as part of a Full Mouth Rehabilitation Treatment.
How Does Invisalign Go work?
Invisalign Go helps to straighten misaligned teeth over a certain period of time, depending on your case. It involves the use of a series of clear trays which are to be worn around 20 – 22 hours each day.
Throughout certain stages of your treatment, you will be assigned a different set of trays to wear, depending on your progress. Each tray is designed to gradually straighten your teeth.
During your first consultation, your dentist will inform you about what is involved with the treatment to ensure you understand what to expect. Following this, your dentist will use an intra oral scanner to create a digital impression of your teeth. This will enable them to view and record the structure of your teeth and display a projected image of how your teeth may look at the end of your treatment on a chairside monitor.
These digital impressions are also used to help track and monitor your progress throughout your treatment. In addition, they are also used to create your custom aligner trays.
Following this, your scans will then be sent to an external lab to be manufactured to suit your needs and your treatment plan. Once created, your dentist will call you back into the practice to collect your first aligner trays.
As mentioned above, these may need to be worn for at least 20 – 22 hours per day or as advised by your dentist.
Invisalign Go vs Invisalign Full
The main difference between Invisalign Go and a full Invisalign treatment is the length of your treatment and severity of your case.
An Invisalign Go treatment plan may be completed in a shorter timeframe than a full Invisalign plan as it revolves around treating minor cases which may not require as much movement within your teeth to produce your desired results.
However, a full treatment is used for more complex cases which may require more time to straighten multiple teeth.
What are the benefits of invisible braces?
Invisible braces have become a popular treatment option amongst patients as they are:
Invisalign Go aligners trays are shaped like a mouthguard which can be easily removed while you eat, drink, or brush your teeth.
Unlike traditional braces, they are not fixed onto your teeth which allows your teeth to have more freedom and comfort.
Clear and discreet
The aligner trays you will receive for your Invisalign Go treatment plan are clear and discreet. They are virtually invisible and are hardly noticeable when you talk. Hence why they are often referred to as invisible braces.
With the help of our digital scanners, your trays will be made to suit the natural structure of your teeth. Meaning, they are custom-made and allow you to smile with comfort. However, if you do experience any major irritation or discomfort when wearing your trays, please contact your dentist so that they can help you resolve the issue.
Furthermore, you can also download the Invisalign App to help you track and monitor your progress. This is a great way to visualise how your teeth look so you can understand which stage of your treatment plan you are at.
How long does it take to straighten your teeth with Invisalign?
Depending on the complexity of your case, your treatment plan may take around 3 – 6 months to complete. However, this also depends on the degree of movement your teeth may require to achieve a straighter smile.
Price of a clear aligner treatment
The price of an Invisalign Go treatment is considered on a case-to-case basis. Usually, it depends on the complexity of your case. The longer it takes to straighten your smile, the more trays you may require in your treatment plan.
