Meet Dr Georgios (George) Papageorgakopoulos

Originally from Greece, Dr George completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2002, followed by a year of compulsory service as a military dentist. He later pursued specialist training in the United States, commencing his postgraduate studies in Periodontology at the University of Louisville in 2004. In 2007, he graduated with a Master’s degree in Periodontology and subsequently achieved certification with the American Board of Periodontology in 2008.

Dr George has held several respected academic and teaching positions throughout his career, including Assistant Professor at the University of Louisville and Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow at University College London (UCL). His academic involvement reflects a strong commitment to continuing education, evidence-based dentistry, and mentoring the next generation of clinicians.

Alongside his academic work, Dr George has practised in specialist periodontal and implant clinics across the United Kingdom, Greece, and New Zealand, gaining extensive international experience in both surgical and restorative periodontal care.

Now based on the Gold Coast, Dr George works closely with clinicians in the management of periodontal disease, implant treatment, and comprehensive oral rehabilitation. His clinical expertise includes:
